Ghosts of Rye, East Sussex - 2012 Photos by Paul A. Hussey
The Fishing town of Rye in east sussex is famous for its ghostly hauntings and architecture and as i am a writer of various true ghost stories and a fan of old buildings I thought I would visit and photograph the various haunted building in Rye. One of the most haunted spots in rye is in The Mermaid Inn ( I have 28 photos of same) which was rebuilt in 1420.
One of the scary stories involved a couple sleeping in one of the bedroom and being woken up in the middle of the night to the sounds of sword fencing. what they witnessed was 2 men dressed in 16th. Century dress fencing until one of the men was killed. This dead man then faded and disappeared and the other fencer walked through the wall and disappeared.
